The Learning Memories

If I remember my experiences in the past, I am glad. I am happy.

Although my childhood time was not perfect.

Although I didn’t have enough time to explore music, I am happy.

Why?

At least, I had experiences in learning how to play piano and guitar although they weren't  perfect.

My mastery are just ‘so-so’ levels.

Not amazing and not too bad.

Telling the learning memories is talking about process.

Process of pain, bored, happy, bitter, delighted, and many more.

There is no shortcut in learning something.

For example, to master on the classical song of ‘Naik-naik ke puncak gunung’, arranged by Kaye A.Solapung, I needed around more than one month to be able to play it well.

And I spent many hours to master on this song.

There was no instant process.

Hard work should be paid and I have sacrificed my comfortable free time to do these continuous activities of practising.

In this case, concerning to guitar mastery, there are three steps that you have to do in order to be able to play guitar or any skills well.

First, You must have a committment how long you want to practice everyday.

This is the hard thing to do.

Actually, we don't have to spend the time too long for the first time.

Fifteen minutes in a day will be fine for the first start.

Do regularly is better than doing in random; today, we do in four hours; tomorrow, two hours; the day after tomorrow until the early of the month none.

So, decide, plan everyday that you do what you want to master on and for how long.

For example, I decide to master on guitar playing, in this case, classical and fingerstyle guitar, so I plan to play, practice to play the guitar for fifteen minutes everyday.

And then consistent with it.

If you are discipline with small steps each day, you will get bigger without you realize it.

So, start small at the first time, don't worry about the speed.

You will get the result sooner or later.

Second, learn from all sources that you can get.

Lucky for us today, now we get all informations from internet.

We can study from YouTube, websites or other resources from the internet.

And after we collect all the informations, we select which ones are suitable for us to apply in mastering the skills that we want to have.

Learn from the people that are capable and trusted, and the most important thing is the masters like to share their knowledge and abilities, eventhough they don't get any money from their sharings.

Third, pray to God that you want to get the skills.

Don't feel lazy or hesitate to pray to God, because He is our creator.

Without Him, we can do nothing.

Cooperating with God will speed up the process of learning and we can get the mastery quickly.

I usually pray before starting doing anything.

I make myself clear that I can do all things through God who strengthens me.

All things, all actions, all activities are for God, not for men.

That is the principle that I always put in mind.

Sometimes, I forget, I boast my abilities to others.

Our abilities are from God, so we have to use them to please Him.

So, learning process is not an instant process. We need time to make the mastery fulfilled.

So, I keep practicing to play my guitar in order to master on it.
